1. Weekend Update

    How I spent my weekend

-Watched 127 Hours. Thoughts are below.

-Caught up on Top Chef and finished the first season of Breaking Bad

-Went out drinking around Union Square and made a hasty (2 beers only) retreat after checking out the prices

-Read the February issue of GQ. Their long reads at the end are impressing me more and more. Last month it was the Dubai assassination, this month its the store of the Afghan Boy. The special collector’s issue though, is just a ploy to have hardcore sports fans put down $5 multiple times for multiple covers for a magazine that is now no thicker than a CD case.

    - Listened to a LOT of music.

    - Had a good brunch at a place near Astor Place.

  2. Weekend Update

    How I spent my weekend

-Watched 6 out of 7 episodes of the first season of Breaking Bad. It really is a show that raises the bar on TV dramas.

    - Listened to a LOT of Sufjan  Stevens. After first hating All Delighted People I have now decided I do like it. I have also decided I am going to dress up as him for Halloween 2011.

    - Got my hands on the new Cut Copy (awesome)and Iron and Wine (haven’t listened to it yet), I love that so many albums are leaking.

    - Still working on reading Tokyo Cancelled. I do not understand why the British loved it. I’m really not seeing its greatness.

    - Watched the Golden Globes. The fact that the guy from Big Bang Theory won over EVERYONE else in his category means the whole thing is a joke

  3. Weekend Update

    How I spent my weekend

    - Brought in 2011 in Philly

    Happy New Year everyone!

    - Got my picture on the wall at Vic’s Sushi in Philadelphia (best sushi in the world), so I have left a little part of me in the city.

    - I’m finally all caught up on Community. The second season is a lot better than the first.

-Started reading ‘Tokyo Cancelled’ by Rana Dasgupta (first book of 2011)

-First movie of 2011 goes to Exit Through The Gift Shop. Words cannot describe how much I liked the movie

  4. Weekend Update

    How I spent my weekend

    - M.I.A. on repeat (been listening to Piracy Funds Terrorism and MAYA this weekend)

    - Saw ‘Easy A’ on DVD. Great movie. Emma Stone is going to be huge.

-Saw ‘Tron: Legacy’ in IMAX 3D. Tickets were way to pricey. Soundtrack was amazing.

-Almost through this week’s (double) issue of the Economist. Finished reading GQ (January), but lets face it was thinner than most holiday catalogues.

    - Caught up completely with this season of Fringe. It has really improved a lot

  5. Weekend Update

    How I spent my weekend

-The Doors and Four Tet on repeat

    - Saw ‘The Kids are All Right’. Amazing soundtrack and a good movie. Great perfomances.

    - Read the November issue of Wired and December issue of Dazed and Confused (Daft Punk is on the cover!)

    - Saw a couple of episodes of Community, and am finally catching up with the current season of Fringe. Its really raised its game.

  6. Weekend Update

    How I spent my weekend

    - Was in New Jersey with my aunt, which means I saw a lot of Hindi movies (Break ke Baad, Knock Out and Aisha)

    - Ate lots of Indian food.

    -Was generally a lazy person

  7. Weekend Update

    How I spent my weekend

-Hot Chip and Simian Mobile Disco on repeat

-Meeting a bunch of friends who were in New York for the weekend over coffee, beer or wine (The tree is now up at Rockfeller Center)

    - Lots of drinking, not too much cooking.

    - Only saw 1 more episode of Dexter so I’m still behind. Really into Community now, not sure who I like best but I know I like Pierce the least.

  8. Weekend Update (11/12-11/14)

    How I spent my weekend

    -Exploring Manhattan and Brooklyn

-Seeing Scott Caan wait for the F train (He really is short)
